- Is Holdmark HIPAA itself, or is it a tool to be HIPAA-compliant?
- A tool. No software is HIPAA itself — HIPAA is a regulation, not a certification. Holdmark makes the practice’s day-to-day compliance posture observable and current; the practice remains the covered entity and the one accountable to OCR.
- How long does it take to be ready for an audit after signing up?
- Onboarding runs in days, not months. The dashboard generates an audit packet from the first week — the evidence on file grows from there, but the packet is built from day one.
- Do you support dental, mental-health, or specialty-specific payer rules?
- Yes. Payer-policy coverage is specialty-specific; the onboarding step asks for the practice’s specialty and licensed states. Broad state privacy acts (CA, NY, TX, and others where the practice is licensed) are covered alongside HIPAA and HITECH.
- Do my providers have to do anything every day?
- Only when the dashboard raises a finding. Otherwise it runs in the background — chart-note scans, policy watches, training reminders, BAA renewals — and the dashboard surfaces what needs a human decision.
- Can I see what a packet looks like before I subscribe?
